On November 17th,the 2023 Golden Panda Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition,hosted by the Chengdu Municipal People's Government and organized by the Chengdu High tech Zone Management Committee,was successfully held in the Chengdu High tech Zone.

The 2023 Golden Panda Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition aims to gather globally advantageous technological innovation resources,integrate global innovation concepts,and build an open innovation platform with international competitiveness,establishing three cutting-edge fields:new generation information technology,cutting-edge biopharmaceuticals,and future technology.

The competition attracted a total of 2085 projects to register and participate.After 10 domestic and international field competitions,46 projects stood out and entered the finals.Among them,in terms of international participating teams,the number and quality of Korean participating teams have significantly improved,with a total of 5 projects being nominated for the finals,accounting for 11%of the total.

In the final held on the same day,30 projects won awards after intense competition.It is reported that this competition has selected 3 first prizes,6 second prizes,9 third prizes,and 12 excellent prizes.The project of solving the large-scale manufacturing of high-end 1550nm InP-Si active optoelectronic chips for choking neck won the first prize in the field of new generation information technology,the project of trans species tumor gene therapy won the first prize in the field of cutting-edge biomedicine,and the project of research and development of L4 level auto drive system in the urban road scene and its application in the field of urban distribution logistics won the first prize in the field of future science and technology.Other projects are also worth paying attention to,such as the project of Brain Computer Interface Application,which focuses on the research of brain computer interface technology and its application in the consumer electronics and medical fields.The core product,the neural interaction bracelet,is the world's first commercially available fully flexible nanometre electronic chip which is at a global leading level.

The Chengdu High tech Zone provides generous bonuses to the winning enterprises in this competition,including the first prize of 1 million yuan,the second prize of 600000 yuan,the third prize of 300000 yuan,and the excellent prize of 100000 yuan.At the same time,a maximum of 1 million yuan landing award,a maximum of 5 million yuan equity financing subsidy,a 500000 yuan technology entrepreneurship service subsidy,and the Three Five entrepreneurial policy support of 500 square meters of entrepreneurial space will be given to landing enterprises.In addition,the organizing committee of the competition will continue to provide professional services such as policy support,investment and financing docking,industry chain cooperation,and industry technology and professional field training,continuously assisting the growth of participating projects,promoting more cutting-edge innovation projects to be landing in the Chengdu High tech Zone,and creating a high-quality venture capital ecosystem.

A peak forum with the theme of pilot scale and new quality productivity was also held simultaneously at the event site.Du Lan,the president of Guangdong Artificial Intelligence Industry Association,and Zhang Xin,the managing director of Tongchuang Weiye,delivered keynote speeches.Guests and representatives from universities,leading institutions,and enterprises such as Peking University,Tsinghua University,University of Electronic Science and Technology,Daoyuan Capital,and Hummingbird Intelligence Manufacturing held a peak dialogue on the path thinking of simultaneous efforts in technological innovation and transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

Zhang Wanli,the dean of the School of Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering at the University of Electronic Science and Technology,pointed out that the Chengdu High tech Zone and the School of Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering are exploring a new model of school local cooperation called Five Ones:one college,one professional carrier,one pilot platform,one angel fund,one company,based on the construction of the knowledge economy circle around universities,focusing on industry segmentation fields and accurately promoting scientific and technological innovation and transformation of scientific and technological achievements.We believe that this model is very good and has the potential to truly solve the pain points and difficulties in the transformation and implementation of scientific and technological innovation achievements in universities.

In addition,to promote industrial cooperation and accelerate the flow of innovative elements,the organizer invited 32 domestic and foreign high-end enterprises to showcase their products at the award ceremony.Tao Zhengzhou,the founder of Chengdu Shiweina Optoelectronics Technology Co.,Ltd.,as a representative of the first prize winning enterprise in the 2022 Pension Panda Competition,shared his experience in landing in the Chengdu High tech Zone and its subsequent development process.At the same time,he also expressed his hope to use the competition as a bridge to connect more high-quality enterprises and resources,so that more enterprises can land and develop in the High tech Zone.

The Golden Panda Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition adheres to selecting a group of top talent teams and research institution projects with disruptive innovation capabilities globally,further gathering innovative elements,and assisting in the construction of industrial circles and strong chains.The competition has been successfully held for four consecutive sessions since 2019,with a total of over 7000 participating projects covering 27 countries such as the United States,the United Kingdom,Germany,and South Korea.More than 120 institutions and 167 promotional ambassadors have become long-term strategic partners of the competition,gradually becoming an internationally renowned entrepreneurial event brand with great influence and appeal in the central and western regions of China.
