Under the national strategy of the the Belt and Road and the Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor,Chengdu,as the intersection of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the starting point of the Southern Silk Road,has a sense of presence that cannot be ignored.Over the past decade,Chengdu's economic development has been stable and far-reaching,and the city's appearance has been constantly changing.The interweaving of the sky and land,flights and railways,and land and air has created an international three-dimensional network that connects Chengdu in all directions.The number and quality of international routes have provided important support for Chengdu's opening up and international construction.Close exchanges with international friendship cities have made the construction of the the Belt and Road gradually mature,constantly expanding Chengdu's international influence,boosting Chengdu to take the forefront of inland opening up,playing a more active role in the the Belt and Road strategy,and promoting the joint construction of the the Belt and Road to go deep,practical,and stable.

On October 19th,the Yue-Gui-Rong Europe Express Line carrying a batch of car parts made its debut from the Chengdu International Railway Port located in Qingbaijiang District of Chengdu.Following the Lancang-Mekong-Chengdu Europe Express Line,the Chengdu International express line launched another direct railway express line product from Southeast Asia to Europe through Chengdu,marking the further expansion of international intermodal transport channels,which will add new impetus to the joint construction of a new channel of the the Belt and Road and create a new pattern of integrated development.

The number of trains operated has continued to increase,the transport products have become more diversified,and the routes have been enriched and optimized......From the operation data of China-Europe trains,we can see the vigorous development of the the Belt and Road in the past decade.

Nowadays,the initiative of jointly building the the Belt and Road has ushered in its 10th anniversary.As the departure place of Chengdu international trains,Qingbaijiang has never been absent from the forefront of opening up in the past decade.It continues to run on the road of opening up to the world.Through the Chengdu China-Europe Train and the Chengdu International Railway Port,it has built a land logistics channel between China's inland hinterland and Europe's hinterland,constructing a multi-directional coordinated operation pattern of trains,and continuously utilizing the international train route network and land sea freight distribution system of entering Europe to the west,connecting Mongolia Russia to the north,connecting Japan and South Korea to the east,and expanding ASEAN to the south to carry out economic and trade exchanges and strengthen international connections.At the same time,relying on the development momentum of the railway transportation industry,it strongly drives the economic development of cities along the line.At the same time,relying on the development momentum of the railway transportation industry,it strongly drives the economic development of cities along the line.Since 2013,the import and export volume of foreign trade in Qingbaijiang District has increased from 2.573 billion yuan to 30.52 billion yuan.

This year is also the sixth anniversary of the opening of Chengdu Qingbaijiang Railway Port Area,a pilot free trade zone in China(Sichuan).In this decade,Qingbaijiang District can change from an old industrial base to a pan European and pan Asian open port city,which is inseparable from the innovation and transformation of traditional enterprises.The international pilot scale industrial base oriented to the the Belt and Road came into being,built an exchange platform for science and technology sharing between Qingbaijiang District and countries around the world,and jointly built effective links between countries and regions to realize innovation elements.Not only that,Qingbaijiang District has anchored the overall positioning of land sea intermodal transportation hub,internationalization of Qingbaijiang.And guided by the construction of a spatial development pattern of one port leading,dual core co development,and four coordinated,it has planned and constructed three major industrial functional zones:Chengdu International Railway Port,European Industrial City,and Chengdu High Performance Fiber Maintenance Materials,promoting industrial agglomeration through openness and focusing on the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

Now,ten years later,Qingbaijiang has been awarded the title of Strong County Economic Zone in Sichuan Province.The transformation achievements of old industrial bases,as the only case of national urban transformation,have been selected for the United Nations Special Edition of the China Human Development Report.12 international railways and rail sea intermodal transportation channels have been opened,connecting 135 domestic and foreign cities.In 2022,the cumulative number of China Europe Railway(Chengdu-Chongqing)trains has exceeded 5000.According to the data,from January to September 2023,Qingbaijiang District is expected to complete 30.2 billion yuan of import and export volume of goods trade.At this critical stage of transforming opening advantages into industrial advantages,Qingbaijiang,as the vanguard and bridgehead of opening up in the west,will continue to hold the banner of opening up and march into a new era of the Belt and Road construction.

Overlooking the airport,Tianfu International Airport in the eastern new area is like four sun birds carrying the sun and soaring.Each steel bird takes off from the airport's embrace,crossing the sky,leaving behind traces depicting the Silk Road in the blue sky.These four sun birds are now taking off on the 10th anniversary of the the Belt and Road,leading Chengdu,which is located in the southwest inland and has just become a national central city,to soar into the sky,bringing new growth opportunities for regional economic growth.

Tianfu International Airport

At the third the Belt and Road International Cooperation Summit Forum,Chengdu's Kyrgyz logistics channel and international trade strategic cooperation projects were included in the list of practical cooperation projects,which means that Manas International Airport Co.,Ltd.,Kyrgyz Post Co.,Ltd.and Shengshi Technology Co.,Ltd.will work together with the Eastern New Area of Chengdu to carry out cooperation in the fields of international routes opening,logistics hub channel construction,digital trade services,etc.,jointly promoting strategic cooperation in passenger and freight transportation between China,Central Asia,and Europe,and promoting the import and export trade of characteristic products between the two regions.

Sichuan Airlines has opened its first international flight directly from China to Bokala,Nepal;Qatar Airways resumed its Chengdu-Doha route......For a long time,air transportation has been one of the main ways for Chengdu to directly participate in global industrial division.Chengdu Tianfu International Airport,as one of the highest rated airports on the Silk Road Economic Belt,is also the main hub of Chengdu International Aviation Hub.Over the years,the Eastern New Area of Chengdu has continued to promote the resumption and densification of international routes,focusing on linking countries in Europe,Central Asia,Southeast Asia and other regions,building and jointly building hub channels and air bridges to connect countries along the the Belt and Road,and promoting the rapid and steady improvement of the international routes of Tianfu International Airport in both quality and quantity.As of September 30,2023,Tianfu International Airport has opened 281 domestic routes,ranking third in the country in terms of route accessibility,and 41 international passenger routes,covering 36 destinations.

With the rapid growth of passenger traffic at Tianfu International Airport,the freight advantage of Chengdu International Aviation Hub is also gradually emerging.Chengdu is a city without coastal ports.However,with the development of the air cargo industry,the logistics service capacity of air cargo has also become an important factor in enhancing the competitiveness of the international supply chain.By using air advantages to compensate for the lack of coastal ports,Tianfu International Airport has become an important driving force for the economic development of the western inland region.

The Eastern New Area Urban Core Area of Chengdu

In line with the trend of air freight transportation,from January to September 2023,Chengdu Air Hub completed a cargo throughput of 544200 tons,an increase of 18.4%year-on-year and 11.6%year-on-year compared to the same period in 2019.The cargo throughput ranks sixth in the country and is expected to reach 700000 tons for the entire year.
