As on April 2, a total of 911,308 COVID-19 positive cases and 45,497 deaths have been recorded. More than 210,000 cases have been confirmed in the United States, 30 states have declared it a "major disaster" and more than 110,000 cases have been confirmed in Italy. The epidemic situation in various countries is severe and all kinds of epidemic prevention materials are in serious shortage.

COVID-19 is spreading rapidly worldwide. As a key medical device for the treatment of the pandemic, the demand for ventilators has increased dramatically. China has become an important exporter of ventilators. From March 19 to 30, China has urgently provided more than 1,700 invasive respirators to foreign countries. The masks necessary for daily epidemic prevention are also in short supply. At present, more than 70% of masks overseas come from China. As a responsible country, China is trying to make greater contribution to international cooperation in epidemic prevention and control.

Sichuan Province of China also donated anti-epidemic materials to friendly cities in Japan, South Korea, Italy and other countries. Recently, the online procurement fair for international trade promotion of anti-epidemic products in Sichuan Province was successfully held. Thirteen countries, including the United Kingdom, plan to purchase all kinds of anti-epidemic materials from Sichuan. The scope of this purchase covers many categories such as protective articles, testing reagents, disinfection and sterilization products, medical equipment, Chinese medicine preparations, etc., and epidemic prevention materials can be purchased in one go.(By Edina Liang)
