With only three days to go before the official opening of the Third Expo Import and Export and International Investment Conference, there is much excitement in the air. The event will be held at the International Exhibition and Exhibition Center of the Western China International Expo City from September 20 to 23. It will be divided into two parts: the Import and Export Exhibition of the Western Expo and the International Investment Conference. The four-day event will showcase opportunities for cooperation with Sichuan, the province’s industrial might and product advantages, and set up a platform for industrial docking and economic and trade exchanges.
Spread over 80,000 square meters, the exhibition has products from all over the world to suit all tastes
The Third Expo Import and Export will focus on major sectors of industrial cooperation, commodity trade and service trade. There are 1,500 enterprises participating in the exhibition. Delegates from 55 countries are expected to be present.
The exhibition area is divided by categories into six areas that include imported wine and food exhibition area, imported fashion living goods exhibition area, imported mother and infant and daily necessities exhibition area.
Visitors can sample food and wine or buy products from all over the world to realize the ease of access that economic and trade cooperation is bringing to them.
Industrial ‘gift packages’ will be distributed
The International Investment Conference will focus on promoting investment cooperation between Sichuan and developed countries (regions) and provinces, publicizing and displaying investment opportunities of Sichuan’s ‘5+1’ modern industrial system (which includes a robust combination of five pillar industries i.e. electronic information, equipment manufacturing, food and beverages, new materials and energy engineering with digital industry), and organizing a series of investment promotion and docking talks for nearly 40 events. Sichuan Province plans to launch nearly 2,400 investment cooperation projects which will be ‘gift packages’ to highlight the effectiveness of industrial cooperation and promote high-quality economic development.
Ziyang Branch Venue will hold the 2nd World Sichuan Cuisine Conference and the World Lemon Industry Development Congress this year. In order to promote the development of county economy, Sichuan County Economic Industry Promotion Conference will be held, aiming to attract investments and carry out investment projects, promote industrial cooperation and project implementation.
Creating a new pattern of 3-D cooperation
The hinterland of Sichuan is opening up to the world with the construction of ‘One Belt, One Road’ on the Yangtze River economic belt, the new round of western development and the Pan Pearl River Delta cooperation.
According to the briefing, the highlight of this exhibition will be the development of ‘One Belt, One Road’ and creating a new pattern of three-dimensional open cooperation. A strategic plan of ‘four-way expansion and all-round opening up’ will be implemented in Sichuan and representatives of foreign affairs and businessmen at home and abroad will be invited to take part in the activities.
At present, ASEAN countries such as Singapore, Thailand, Nepal and India, those in the south such as Japan and Korea, Italy, Germany, France, the United States and Canada in the west, Russia and Poland in the north, as well as developed coastal areas in the east of China and relevant provinces in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area have confirmed their attendance. The Summit of Business Leaders of South-East Asian Countries and the Summit of Economic, Trade and Cultural Exchanges between China and Argentina in 2019 will be launched later.
